ANNUAL NATIONAL SHRIMP FESTIVAL
There is something for everyone at the Annual National Shrimp Festival held the second full weekend of October. This free event is open to everyone and brings in more than 250,000 people each year for a four day weekend filled with live music, fun, culture and great food. During the festival more than 300 artists from all around the country set up their tents filled with folksy festival crafts, fine art, jewelry, pottery and more. You'll find shrimp served up every which way you can imagine.
This event is fun for the whole family and people of all ages. There are interactive games and activities to keep the little ones occupied. On Saturday, anyone is welcomed to participate in the Sand Sculpture Contest held at the West end of the beach at the public beach access.
October is a wonderful time to visit the Alabama Gulf Coast. The temperature is on average around 80 degrees, the summer crowds have thinned out and the ocean waters are still warm. Not to worry if our outdoor pool is a bit chilly for your liking as all of our complexes offer heated indoor pools, hot tubs and saunas so there is never a weekend at the beach without swimming. This is also a great time to visit if you enjoy bike riding. Our Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail provides 7 different trails with over 15 miles of paved trails that wind through the Gulf State park.
Availabiity during this popular time is limited so start planning your Shrimp Festival getaway and reserve your favorite property for the upcoming National Shrimp Festival today. Phoenix Gulf Shores is just a few steps away from all of the action. There is also a shuttle that will run by various stops every 15 minutes from Rouses Grocery
